Starting Point
The first step is the hardest – making a commitment to you, for yourself. – Mary Kay Ash
We all have a vision of how we want our life to pan out, the milestones we want to achieve, the places we want to go, and our career path. Many times this vision is so much bigger than ourselves and where we are at; to be honest it all seems intimidating making one wonder “Will I really be able to achieve all this? Me? Where will I ever start?”
Often one of our reasons for never starting is a four-letter word called FEAR. Fear of failure, judgment, embarrassment, separation, even fear of the person we will become on the other side. To be honest, it’s easier to remain the way you are, it’s nice and comfortable but remaining in fear is a sure way to remain stuck. So, for how long will you remain in fear? How long will you be ok with letting the fear rob you of the entirety of what you could be? How long will you allow yourself to be bound to your present state and not evolve?
Another reason is thinking we need to reach a certain state in order to take that step. The ‘need’ to learn a certain set of skills before you can make that application, the ‘need’ to get your life together. This is not to discount the place of preparation but there are times when the preparation is trying to reach a level of perfection which ends us becoming a trap. The perfection trap many times is standards and expectations set by the world around us that inhibit us from being our authentic selves. It could be the expectations placed on you by your guardians or peers, how people have defined success to look like. For example, having x amount of money or x number of followers. But how long will you allow others to dictate how your life should be? How long will you allow others to define success for yourself?
How long will you stay away from making that first step?
Taking that first step can look like many things which are dependent on you. It could be making that phone call, going for therapy or counseling, making that application, making a friend, setting boundaries, deleting that contact, or ending that relationship. It may not look like much to those around you; they may not even notice but picture how your future self would be glad that you made that first step.
Among the many first steps, you can make today is enrolling in The Lapid Experience Program. A program that will set you on a path of self-discovery, self-mastery and so much more. You will be able to discover yourself in a different light; your strengths, interests, values & personal brand to say the least. The best part is you will not be on the journey alone but with other like-minded people going through the same process.
So today let go of all that holds you back from being your best self and take that first step!

I have completed the entire Lapid program which constitutes 3 pillars Lead self, Lead Marketplace, and Lead Africa. I enjoyed rediscovering myself during The Lapid Experience through the modules and activities.
